The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Croatia held the first official celebration of World Arabic Language Day, in cooperation with UNESCO and Qatar Foundation International, at the Press House in Zagreb. H.E. Ms. Asma Naji Al Amri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Croatia, gave the opening speech.
The event included a panel discussion entitled “Arabic Language Why Not?” Officials, ambassadors and academics participated in it, sharing their experiences and backgrounds about the Arabic language and its importance.
After the panel, the embassy hosted a workshop on Arabic calligraphy and learning the Arabic language, in which 15 students from the Arts Secondary School participated. The ceremony was attended by officials and diplomats accredited to the Republic of Croatia, and journalists who covered the event as it was the first in the Croatia.
