Travel tips:

  • Visa must be obtained before traveling, it is necessary to carry a passport and register at the police upon arrival to Croatia and this is done through the hotel or automatically at the police station if the residence is private or at friends’ place.
  • When traveling with pets a veterinary certificate of health with the vaccination is necessary and certificate of emptiness from ailments.

Zagreb - the capital of the Republic of Croatia

The first document which mentions the name of the city of Zagreb is from 1094. Zagreb is the capital, with a population of about 800 thousand inhabitants on an area of 650 square kilometers north of the Republic of Croatia where it is breached by Sava  River. The city is just 170 km away from the Adriatic Sea, and rises 122 meters above sea level. In 1991 when Croatia became an independent Country, Zagreb became the Capital and headquarters of all the political and administrative institutions in the country , its considered the economic center as well as  a cultural, artistic and  entertainment center, it is a  birthplace of many famous scientists, artists,  athletes.

Zagreb is one of the Croatian tourist destinations with a lot to offer like the lush gardens and parks and open markets in addition to the 19 theaters, 24 museums and 65 art exhibition halls.
